The following online classes are being offered by the Senior Center using the Zoom platform. Additional classes may be added in the future.

The Senior Center will be paying the instructor their regular rate for the Zoom classes.
For all participants, we are using the honor system: This is not about money – it’s all about community and staying connected.  There is a suggested donation of $5 per class (unless otherwise indicated) — send in a check at some point (once a month, perhaps). Other Classes

  • New! Conflict Resolution — Introduction with Mark Williams
    Starting 7/13 through 8/17, on Monday afternoons, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
    This fascinating topic can benefit anyone, because we all encounter conflict. Using role-playing and practical mediation exercises, participants in this 6-week class will learn:
    • how to calm an angry person down
    • how to empathize with a person with whom you disagree
    • how to focus on emotional needs rather than the specifics of the issue
    • how to translate accusations into descriptions of behavior that don’t inflame
    • how to gauge when someone is open to negotiation, and when not to negotiate
    Mark Williams is a couples’ counselor in practice for more than 30 years. Please note: This course is for basic skill building and is not intended for couples.
    Registration required by 7/10. Suggested donation $30, for the 6-week series.
  • Memoir Writing: Thursday 11:00-12:00 with Sandi Detwiler. Course fully enrolled.
  • Gents Breakfast Discussion Group: 8:00-9:30am, 2nd Thursdays of the month – no fee
  • Play Reading: Monthly on 3rd Thursdays, 1-4 pm, no fee. Course fully enrolled.
